About Us
Who are we?
Founded by Lincoln-born optometrist Annabelle Magee (née Slingsby), Clear View Opticians was created with a clear ambition: to provide the local community with the personal, professional, and consistent eyecare they deserve.
As a mother, Annabelle understands that visiting the optician can feel daunting — particularly for children. Clear View combines the high clinical standards of an independent practice with a warm, welcoming environment for patients of all ages.
Annabelle holds a postgraduate Professional Certificate in Paediatric Eye Care and examines children from six months old, alongside adults and children with SEN+D. She is also accredited in myopia management.
Passionate about the medical side of optometry, Annabelle continually develops her clinical expertise. She holds multiple postgraduate Professional Certificates, including Low Vision and Glaucoma and serves as the NHS Low Vision Service Practitioner for Lincoln, the only NHS-accredited low vision specialist in the area.
In 2024, Annabelle achieved a Distinction in PgCert Clinical Optometry from Cardiff University, further enhancing her advanced clinical knowledge and professional standing.
Annabelle has also served Vision Aid Overseas on two occasions, providing eyecare to remote communities in Ghana and Sierra Leone, alongside teaching in hospital settings — work she hopes to continue in the future.
She works closely with local hospital ophthalmologists and is Community Optometrist Triage Assessment and Treatment Service accredited, delivering the NHS GOS 18 Triage and Treat Service across Lincolnshire. This allows Clear View to accept referrals from opticians and medical professionals for patients requiring further investigation of minor eye conditions.
